FAME 4GL, Introduction to FAME and Populator

Overview: This course introduces users to the powerful and easy to use FAME 4GL programming language. This hands-on course consists of lecture, computer lab, and a discussion of the lab exercise results.

Duration: 2 days

Prerequisites: None

Objective: Users will gain an understanding of FAME concepts and skills at an introductory level. By the end of the training course, users will have a working knowledge of the FAME system.

Agenda:

  • Enter data and change data
  • Create, delete and rename objects
  • Create, open and close databases in FAME
  • Set date ranges, specify dates and set case ranges
  • Create input and procedure files
  • Understand how FAME handles missing data
  • Retrieve information describing data objects
  • Display, report and graph data series
  • Understand the difference between FAME commands and options
  • Understand basic time scale conversion
  • Understand FAME's many functions, including mathematical operators, and logical operators
  • Retrieve data in Excel using FAME/Populator
